3-30 Northwest Arkansas Tornado

UPDATE

Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers are actively responding to tornado damage in Northwest Arkansas. According to the National Weather Service, an EF-3 tornado impacted parts of Fayetteville and Springdale in the early hours of Wednesday, March 30. The Washington-Madison Association Feeding Unit is feeding volunteers and survivors in the community. The Northwest Baptist Association’s Recovery Unit was able to mobilize volunteers Wednesday morning and began working with homeowners as they started the recovery process. Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith is sending volunteers to assist in recovery efforts. Recovery units from Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village and the Southwest Baptist Association are planning to be deployed in the coming days.

The Incident Management Team is set up at Cross Church in Springdale and is coordinating relief efforts in the area. Arkansas Baptists will continue to serve Northwest Arkansas as long as we are needed. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with The Salvation Army and Red Cross to feed the impacted community and volunteers. It is a blessing to be able to connect with other relief organizations to help on a wider scale.

PRAY

Please pray for the volunteers as they minister to homeowners through both physical and spiritual means.

Please also pray for the homeowners who were affected by the tornado as they begin the road to recovery.
