Daily Update: River Status, Upcoming Deployment and New Training Opportunity

Hundreds of residences have been damaged by the Arkansas River flooding, with many currently displaced from their homes. Currently, the river level is going down in Fort Smith and Van Buren. Yesterday and today it is forecast for the river to crest in Morrilton, Toad Suck, and Little Rock. Pine Bluff is projected to crest on June 5 and 6. The weather forecast for this week is 4-6” of additional rain. This is going to add to the current floods.

We are still waiting for the flooding to end, but the time for action is here. As it stands, we are going to start working in Fort Smith this coming Wednesday, June 5.

Some news outlets have been covering the work of Disaster Relief. Here are links to that coverage from KNWA and Fox/4029.

We had an amazing turnout at the special training at Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Smith this past Sunday

We will be having another training this Saturday, June 8, in White Hall from 9-11 a.m. There is no registration for this event, simply show up at that time. The location and address are below.

First Baptist Church White Hall
9:00am – 11:00am
8708 Dollarway Rd
White Hall, AR 71602

In addition to the above White Hall training, we are still taking registrations for on-site flood volunteers at locations across the state. As it stands, we are going to start working in Fort Smith this coming Wednesday, June 5. Click here to register as a volunteer.

We greatly appreciate all our great Disaster Relief volunteers! It is a blessing to work with so many dedicated individuals who are willing to give up their time and serve their communities.

First Clarksville and the State Unit will be deployed on Wednesday to begin helping those in Fort Smith. Please pray for the volunteers beginning work, and continue to pray first and foremost for the victims affected by this crisis.
