Daily Update: New Service Opportunity in Ft. Smith

Update

There is a new service opportunity for people in and around Ft. Smith who want to help with flood recovery efforts. This Sunday, June 2nd, there will be a Disaster Relief flood recovery training at Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Smith from 3pm-5pm. This is a great way to get involved, even if you are not currently a credentialed Disaster Relief member. Note: if you complete this training you will not become a credentialed Disaster Relief member, but will be qualified to support this flood recovery effort.

Training is free, no registration necessary. Simply show up to the training at the designated time. Details below:

Serve

So now there are three ways to serve:

  1. Special emergency training this Saturday at Central Baptist Church in Conway. After completing this training, you will be a credentialed Disaster Relief member. Click here for details.
  2. Flood recovery training this Sunday at Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Smith. Details above. After completing this training, you will not be a credentialed Disaster Relief member.
  3. Special on-site volunteer. Volunteers will meet on-site at key locations along the river. You will receive a special abbreviated training before jumping in to flood recovery work. If you complete this on-site training, you will not be a credentialed Disaster Relief member. Click here for details and registration.

Please pray for the people suffering damage to their homes in this crisis, and pray that able-bodied people will volunteer to serve their communities as flood recovery efforts begin.
