As we continue to help with flood recovery on the river, most of you know that on the evening of June 19 we had straight-line winds across the southern portion of the state. At one time, nearly 70,000 residents were without power. Your Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief teams are stepping up in those communities that were impacted by the storms.
We have teams out beginning assessments across the southern portion of the state. With the flooding and storm damage, we will continue to monitor and deploy teams where needed. Currently, we have 4 chainsaw teams deployed across South Arkansas doing assessments and clean up.
We are bringing help, healing and hope to all those affected.
We still need and ask for more volunteers for flood recovery! The locations below are where volunteers are needed. Click here to register as a volunteer.
- North Little Rock
- Pine Bluff
There is also an emergency training event this weekend that does not require registration in the Little Rock area. Click here for times and locations.
Please continue to pray for those who have survived this flooding crisis, and for our volunteers who are putting in many hours of hard work. Say a prayer of thanks also for the volunteers who have left their home states to assist in Arkansas’s time of need.
Monetary costs add up quickly in a major disaster like this one. If you feel led to support Disaster Relief financially, click here to give now.
