Daily Update: Assessments Underway

UPDATE

Before major recovery work can begin in any disaster, the damage must be assessed. We have Assessor teams active in Ft. Smith, going from home to home in affected areas to determine how many volunteers will be needed at each. The Ft. Smith Incident Command has been operational for two days now.

Chaplain teams are also active, ministering to people displaced or going through hardship because of the flooding.

SERVE

More volunteers are needed! Trained Disaster Relief workers will be on site to give brief training to those who still want to help in these locations:

  1. Fort Smith
  2. Conway
  3. North Little Rock
  4. Pine Bluff

There are also two emergency training events this weekend that do not require registration, in White Hall and Ft. Smith. Click here for times and locations.

PRAY

Many are hurting physically, emotionally and spiritually as a result of this overwhelming disaster. Please pray for peace for victims, and pray that DR volunteers will be able to give timely and effective help while maintaining their safety in what may be dangerous conditions.

GIVE

Monetary costs add up quickly in a major disaster like this one. If you feel led to support Disaster Relief financially, click here to give now.
